词条 | William of Paris (inquisitor) |
释义 |
William composed the Diologus de Septem Sacramentis at the Priory of St. Jacques in Paris between 1310 and 1314.[2] He was confessor of Philip IV of France. He was made inquisitor of France in 1303, and began a campaign against the Templars in 1307.[3] The arrest of the Templars led to Pope Clement V to suspend William's powers after a complaint from Edward II of England, but King Phillip's "bold and comtemptuous" written reply caused the Pope to back down and re-instate William.[4] In 1310 he presided over the trial of Marguerite Porete.[3] References1. ^{{Cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=Z4SO3_N1tdcC|title=Controversies|date=2012-01-01|publisher=University of Toronto Press|isbn=9781442641150|page=227|language=en}} {{authority control}}{{DEFAULTSORT:William of Paris}}{{france-RC-bishop-stub}}{{RC-archbishop-stub}}2. ^{{Cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=Y8Wk5Rm2FBMC|title=The Gilson Lectures on Thomas Aquinas|date=2008-01-01|publisher=PIMS|isbn=9780888447302|language=en}} 3. ^1 {{cite book|title=The Mirror of Simple Souls|first=Marguerite|last=Porete|editor=Ellen Babinsky|publisher=Paulist Press|year=1993|isbn=0-8091-3427-6|pages=20}} 4. ^{{cite book|title=Magnum Opus Or the Great Work|first=Albert|last=Pike|year=1992|publisher=Kessinger Publishing|isbn=1564592456|pages=10}} 8 : Inquisitors|French Dominicans|Knights Templar|Archbishops of Sens|14th-century Roman Catholic archbishops|13th-century births|14th-century deaths|14th-century French people |
