London painter William Sharp (1803–1875) is credited for the introduction of chromolithography to America in 1840.[1] He had worked for the lithographer Charles Hullmandel in London, and on his arrival in Boston in 1840, went into partnership with Francis Michelin, who had also been employed by Hullmandel.
