释义 |
WIDE (Women in Development Europe) was a European network of development NGOs, gender specialists and human rights activists set up in 1985 at the third UN World Conference on Women held in Nairobi. It monitored and influenced international economic and development policy and practice from a feminist perspective. WIDE’s work is grounded on women's rights as the basis for the development of a more just and democratic world order. WIDE strives for a world based on gender equality and social justice that ensures equal rights for all, as well as equal access to resources and opportunities in all spheres of political, social and economic life. WIDE was one of the initiating networks of the European Feminist Forum (EFF). It was dissolved in 2011 and replaced by a new network WIDE+.[1] See also
