It has an area of {{convert|2429|km2|abbr=on}}. According to the 2002 census, it has a population of 120,000. The Qigexing Buddhist Temple Ruins are located in Yanqi County, about {{convert|25|–|30|km|abbr=on}} southwest of the town of Yanqi.
