It is found in Ecuador and Peru. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. The Yasuni antwren was described in 1999 and given the binomial name Mymotherula fjeldsaai.[2] The present genus Epinecrophylla was introduced in 2006.[3] Some ornithologists have proposed that the Yasuni antwren should be treated as a subspecies of the Napo stipple-throated antwren (Epinecrophylla haematonota).[4][5] References1. ^{{cite web | author=BirdLife International | title=Epinecrophylla haematonota | work=IUCN Red List of Threatened Species | publisher=International Union for Conservation of Nature | year=2016 | url=http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/103657355/0 | doi=10.2305/IUCN.UK.2016-3.RLTS.T103657355A93831699.en | accessdate=8 March 2018}} 2. ^{{ cite journal | last1=Krabbe | first1=N. | last2=Isler | first2=M.L. | last3=Isler | first3=P.R. | last4=Whitney | first4=B.M. | last5=Alvarez | first5=J. | last6=Greenfield | first6=P.J. | year=1999 | title=A new species in the Myrmotherula haematonota superspecies (Aves; Thamnophilidae) from the Western Amazonian lowlands of Ecuador and Peru | journal=Wilson Bulletin | volume=111 | issue=2 | pages=157–165 | url=https://sora.unm.edu/sites/default/files/journals/wilson/v111n02/p0157-p0165.pdf }} 3. ^{{cite journal | last1=Isler | first1=M.L. | last2=Lacerda | first2=D.R. | last3=Isler | first3=P.R. | last4=Hackett | first4=S.J. | last5=Rosenberg | first5=K.V. | last6=Brumfield | first6=R.T. |year=2006 |title=Epinecrophylla, a new genus of antwrens (Aves: Passeriformes: Thamnophilidae) | journal=Proceedings of the Biological Society of Washington | volume=119 | issue=4 | pages=522–527 | doi=10.2988/0006-324X(2006)119[522:EANGOA]2.0.CO;2 | url=http://www.museum.lsu.edu/brumfield/pubs/Isleretal2006.pdf }} 4. ^{{ cite book | last1=Whitney | first1=B.M. | last2=Schunck | first2=F. | last3=Rego | first3=M.A. | last4=Silveira | first4=L.F. | year=2013 | chapter=A new species of Zimmerius tyrannulet from the upper Madeira-Tapajos interfluvium in central Amazonian Brazil: birds don't always occur where they "should" | editor1-last=del Hoyo | editor1-first=J. | editor2-last=Elliott | editor2-first=A. | editor3-last=Sargatal | editor3-first=J. | editor4-last=Christie | editor4-first=D.A. | title=Handbook of the Birds of the World, Special Volume: New Species and Global Index | place=Barcelona | publisher=Lynx Edicions | pages=286–291 | isbn=978-84-96553-88-0 | chapter-url=https://www.researchgate.net/publication/273348956_A_new_species_of_Zimmerius_tyrannulet_from_the_upper_Madeira-Tapajos_interfluvium_in_central_Amazonian_Brazil_Birds_don't_always_occur_where_they_should }} 5. ^{{ cite web | last=Isler | first=M | title=Proposal (590): Treat Epinecrophylla fjeldsaai as a subspecies of E. haematonota | url=http://www.museum.lsu.edu/~Remsen/SACCprop590.htm | publisher=South American Classification Committee of the American Ornithological Society | date=October 2013 | accessdate=8 March 2018 }} External links{{Wikispecies|Epinecrophylla fjeldsaai}}
