According to the 2000 census, population of the district is 26,951 of which 11,228 live in the town of Yenice.[1] The district covers an area of {{convert|620|km2|sqmi|0|abbr=on}},[2] and the town lies at an elevation of {{convert|444|m|ft|0|abbr=on}}.
