He played at the tackle position for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (1942–1943; 1946–1947) and in the National Football League (NFL) for the Chicago Rockets (1948) and Chicago Hornets (1949). He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1977. Czarobski was born on the South Side of Chicago in 1922 and attended Mount Carmel High School. He began his college football career playing at the tackle position for the University of Notre Dame from 1942 to 1943, but he then missed the 1944 and 1945 seasons due to military service. He returned to Notre Dame for the 1946 to 1947 seasons.[1] At the end of the 1947 season, Czarobski was selected as a first-team All-American by the Newspaper Enterprise Association (NEA) and the International News Service (INS).[1][2] He was selected as a second-team All-American by the Associated Press and a third-team All-American by the United Press.[3][4] Czarobski also played professional football in the NFL for the Chicago Rockets in 1948 and Chicago Hornets in 1949. He appeared in a total of 26 games in the NFL.[5] Czaraobski was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1977.[6] He was also inducted into the National Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame in 1984.[7] He died in 1984 at age 61.[8][9] References1. ^{{cite news|author=Harry Grayson|title=Lujack Is Only Unanimous Choice For NEA's 1947 All-America|work=Middlesboro, Kentucky, Daily News|date=November 1947}} 2. ^{{cite news|author=Lawton Carver|title=Johnny Lujack Unanimous INS All-American Grid Selection|work=The Daily Courier|location=Connellsville, Pennsylvania|date=1947-12-04}} 3. ^{{cite news|title=Midwest Places Three Backs On AP All-American Squad: Lujack, Evans and Chappuis On First Team|work=Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune|date=1947-12-03}} 4. ^{{cite news|title=Offensive Brilliance Pays Off On UP All-American: Midwestern Zone Leads With Four Players on Team|work=Journal|location=Western Nevada|date=1947-11-27}} 5. ^1 {{cite web|title=Ziggy Czarobski|publisher=Pro-Football-Reference.com|accessdate=September 11, 2014|url=https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/C/CzarZi20.htm}} 6. ^{{cite web|title=Zygmont "Ziggy" Czarobski|publisher=College Football Hall of Fame|accessdate=September 11, 2014|url={{College Football HoF/url|id=1638}}}} 7. ^{{cite web|title=Ziggie Czarobski|publisher=National Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame|accessdate=September 11, 2014|url=http://polishsportshof.com/inductees/football/ziggie-czarobski/}} 8. ^{{cite news|title=Funeral Services Set for Czarobski|newspaper=Schenectady Gazette|date=July 4, 1984|page=|url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1917&dat=19840704&id=Ew0hAAAAIBAJ&sjid=W3MFAAAAIBAJ&pg=6758,588221}} 9. ^{{cite news|title='Ziggy' Czarobski, 61, Notre Dame All-America|newspaper=Chicago Tribune |author=Jauss, Bill|date=July 3, 1984|page=N6|url=https://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/chicagotribune/doc/176077664.html?FMT=ABS&FMTS=ABS:AI&type=historic&date=Jul+3%2C+1984&author=Jauss%2C+Bill&pub=Chicago+Tribune+%281963-Current+file%29&edition=&startpage=&desc=Obituaries}} External links
