In its second season under head coach Walter C. Booth, the team compiled a 7–2 record and outscored opponents by a total of 171 to 52.[1] The team played its home games at Antelope Field in Lincoln, Nebraska. With victories over Iowa State, Missouri, Kansas and Haskell, Nebraska was recognized as the champion of the Missouri Valley.[2] Pre-seasonThe 1900 Nebraska team had compiled a 7–1–2 under first-year head coach Walter C. Perhaps Nebraska was overconfident, or the Haskell team performed admirably, as the Cornhuskers found themselves behind 0-10 by halftime.
