The 2004 Texas Tech Red Raiders football team represented Texas Tech University in the Big 12 Conference (Big 12) during the 2004 NCAA Division I-A football season. In their fifth season under head coach Mike Leach, the Red Raiders compiled an 8–4 record (5–3 against Big 12 opponents), finished in a tie for third place in Southern Division of the Big 12, defeated California in the 2004 Holiday Bowl, and outscored opponents by a combined total of 434 to 314.[1] The team played its home games at Jones SBC Stadium in Lubbock, Texas.
