Initially known as the Lobo class, they were modified U.S. Mackerel class, 825 tons standard, 1,400 tons submerged.[1][2] Ships- {{Ship|BAP|Dos de Mayo|SS-41|2}} (1954) Pennant number 6, from 1959 SS-1, from 1960 SS-41. Completed in June 1954, initially known as Lobo, but renamed Dos de Mayo in April 1957.[1][2] Discarded 1999.{{Citation needed|date=August 2008}}
- {{Ship|BAP|Abtao|SS-42|2}} (1953) Pennant number 5, from 1959 SS-2, from 1960 SS-42. Completed in February 1954, initially known as Tiburón, but renamed Abtao in April 1957.[1][2] Decommissioned in 1998 and became a museum ship in 2004.[3]
