释义 |
Not to be confused with the Afon Marlais which is a tributary of the River Towy nor the Afon Marlas, a tributary of the River Loughor. The Afon Marlais is a right-bank tributary of the River Tâf in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. It flows through the Vale of Lampeter to join the Tâf just west of Whitland.[1] The name derives from the Welsh 'marw glais' and signifies a 'stagnant stream'.[2] References1. ^{{cite map | publisher = Ordnance Survey| title = 177: Carmarthen & Kidwelly| series = Explorer Series| scale = 1 : 25,000}} {{Pembrokeshire-geo-stub}}{{Wales-river-stub}}2. ^{{cite book| first1 = Hywel Wyn| last1 = Owen| first2 = Richard| last2 = Morgan| title = Dictionary of the Place-Names of Wales| isbn = 1-84323-901-9| year = 2007| publisher = Gomer Press| location = Llandysul}} 1 : Rivers of Pembrokeshire |
