The book was published as an accompaniment to his campaign for the presidency of the United States in the 2008 election. The first edition includes a foreword by Llewellyn H. Rockwell, Jr. It is published by the Foundation for Rational Economics and Education of Lake Jackson, Texas. The cover depicts detail from the 1817 painting Declaration of Independence, by John Trumbull, "courtesy of Architect of the Capitol". ReceptionPaul and the book were featured on a crowded The Tonight Show on October 30, 2007, and host Jay Leno was able to get Paul to autograph his copy after the show.[3] By March 2008 it had sold "a brisk 37,000 copies".[4] References1. ^{{Cite news|url=https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/08/09/AR2007080901976.html|title=Campaigning by the Book|author=Kamen, Al|work=Washington Post|date=2007-08-10|accessdate=2008-04-03|page=A11}} 2. ^{{Cite news|url=http://www.newsobserver.com/nation_world/story/658590.html|title=Bookstores replete with books from campaign trail|author=Stearns, Matt|work=News & Observer|publisher=McClatchy Newspapers|date=2007-08-03|accessdate=2008-04-03}} {{Dead link|date=October 2010|bot=H3llBot}} 3. ^{{Cite news|url=http://www.reason.com/news/show/123905.html|title=Scenes from the Ron Paul Revolution: The rise of an eclectic anti-statist movement|work=Reason magazine|author=Doherty, Brian|date=February 2008|accessdate=2008-03-13}} 4. ^{{Cite news|url=https://blogs.forbes.com/trailwatch/2008/03/the-battle-for.html |title=The Battle for Hearts, Minds and Book Sales |work=Forbes |date=2008-03-13 |accessdate=2008-04-03 |author=Bruner, Jon |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20080315173323/http://blogs.forbes.com/trailwatch/2008/03/the-battle-for.html |archivedate=2008-03-15 |deadurl=no |df= }} External links
