{{Ismailism}}Syedna Ali ibn Mohammed al-Waleed was 5th Dai of Taiyabi Musta‘lī Bohra Islam(Death: 27th Shabaan ul-kareem, 612 H/ 20th Dec. 1215 AD, Aghmuur, Hiraaz -Yemen). He succeeded the 4th Dai Ali Bin Hatim to the religious post and was the first Dai from the lineage of al-Waleed of the Quraish tribe.[1]

al-Waleed became Da'i al-Mutlaq in 605AH [2] /1209AD. His period of Dawat was from 605-612 AH / 1209-1215 AD for about 6 years 9 months.

Among his notable works are 'Taaj ul Aqa'id', 'Mukhtasar ul-Usool', 'Az-Zakhirah', Majalis un-Nus'he wal Bayan', 'Al-Mufeedah', Lubbul-Ma'aarif', 'Jilaa ul-Uqool' and 'Al-Eezaahe wat-Tabyeen'.[3]

He was succeeded by Ali bin Hanzalah and his grave is in Aghmur (Haraaz), Yemen. His grave was not known for 600 years, until it was discovered in March, 2019. The official announcement was made on 25th March 2019 by Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin.
