|image=Austroaeschna flavomaculata male side.jpg |image_caption=Male |status=LC |status_system=IUCN3.1 |status_ref=[1] |taxon=Austroaeschna flavomaculata |authority=Tillyard, 1916[2] |range_map=Austroaeschna flavomaculata distribution map.svg }} The alpine darner, Austroaeschna flavomaculata, is a species of dragonfly in the family Telephlebiidae,[3] that is known to be present in the mountainous regions of New South Wales and Victoria, Australia.[4] Although the male was first described in 1916, the female and larvae were not described until 1982.[5] Austroaeschna flavomaculata is a very dark dragonfly with pale markings.
