He played as Centre or Wing for Worcester Warriors, Bristol, Bath, Exeter Chiefs, Sale Sharks and Newcastle Falcons. Andrew was educated at Christ's Hospital school, Horsham, West Sussex.[1] Higgins, along with Alex Crockett and Michael Lipman resigned from Bath on 1 June 2009 prior to an internal disciplinary meeting at the club.[2][3] Allegations of refusing to take drug tests - which the players deny - caused the RFU to investigate and they announced on 17 June that the 3 players and Justin Harrison would face an RFU disciplinary panel charged with "conduct prejudicial to the interests of the game".[4] Higgins played for newly promoted side, Exeter Chiefs, during the 2010/11 season.[5] On 23 May 2012, Higgins left Exeter Chiefs to join with Newcastle Falcons.[6] On 7 October 2013, Higgins is forced to retire from rugby due to his serious knee injury.[7] References1. ^1 {{cite web|title=Higgins Andrew|url=http://www.bathrugbyheritage.org/content/heritage-topics/people/player-profiles/higgins-andrew-2|website=Bath Rugby Heritage|accessdate=24 October 2017|language=en}} 2. ^{{cite news|url=http://www.bathrugby.com/7823.php |title=Bath rugby statement |last=Davies |first=Tim |date=1 June 2009 |publisher=Bath Rugby |accessdate=2009-06-01 |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20090611235716/http://www.bathrugby.com/7823.php |archivedate=11 June 2009 |deadurl=yes |df=dmy }} 3. ^{{cite news|url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/my_club/bath/8055662.stm|title=High profile Bath trio quit club|date=1 June 2009|publisher=The BBC|accessdate=2009-06-01| archiveurl= https://web.archive.org/web/20090608032510/http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/my_club/bath/8055662.stm| archivedate= 8 June 2009 | deadurl= no}} 4. ^{{cite news|url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/my_club/bath/8093596.stm|title=Ex Bath quartet to face RFU panel|date=17 June 2009|publisher=BBC Sport|accessdate=2009-06-17| archiveurl= https://web.archive.org/web/20090618012536/http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/my_club/bath/8093596.stm| archivedate= 18 June 2009 | deadurl= no}} 5. ^{{cite news|url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/8711347.stm|publisher=BBC Sport|title=Exeter Chiefs sign ex-Bath wing Andy Higgins|date=28 May 2010}} 6. ^{{cite news|url=http://tyneandwear.sky.com/rugbyunion/article/21144/falcons-add-three-more |publisher=Tyne and Wear |title=Andy Higgins left Exeter Chiefs to join Newcastle Falcons |date=23 May 2012 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20130625064430/http://tyneandwear.sky.com/rugbyunion/article/21144/falcons-add-three-more |archivedate=25 June 2013 |df=dmy }} 7. ^{{cite news|url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/24435639|publisher=BBC Sport|title=Andy Higgins retires|date=7 October 2013}} External links
