Antonis Prekas ({{lang-el|Αντώνης Πρέκας}}, born 1960) is a Greek journalist and reporter. He has studied film and TV history and written several books, and has worked for some of the largest nation-wide newspapers and journals in Greece. BiographyHe was born in Ermoupoli on the island of Syros in 1960 and studied Political Sciences at the Panteion University. He later studied acting in the drama schools of the National Odeum and the Athens Odeum. He has been working professionally as a journalist since 1979. He married the journalist Elsa Symeonidou (Έλσα Συμεωνίδου) and raised two children. Journalistic viewsIn 1979, Prekas began writing for the Akropolis newspaper, mainly for the arts section. From 1981 and for two years, he was content chief for the Sunday edition of the newspaper. From 1983 until 1991, he worked as content planner and editor in the newspapers Eleftheros Typos, Ta Nea, Vradyni, 24 Ores and Exormisi. In 1989, he was the first director of the Greek edition of Penthouse and the variety periodical Prosopa kai Pragmata. From 1991 until 1993 he was director of Eleftheros and from 1993 was publishing director for Ethnos tis Kyriakis, while also responsible for the newspaper's TV supplement, and from 2001 the arts and culture supplement as well. In 1997, he conceived and managed the creation of the "Prosopa" Greek Television Awards, organised by TV Ethnos. In 2000 he supervised the publication of a CD ROM on the history of Greek television by Ethnos. Television and radioHe also worked in broadcasting, as producer of a weekly show producer on ANT1 along with Costas Carras. Later he moved to Athens 984, he supervised and presented the Sunday music show Sta stekia ta palia (Στα στέκια τα παλιά). His most important career milestones in television were as a reporter in the show Treis ston aera (Τρεις στον αέρα, 1986), as an anchor in the gameshow To Mystiko (Το Μυστικό, 1988), a main contributor on the daily television show Together and Today [Μαζί και σήμερα, 1989) on state television, topic presenter for the weekly theatre show Premiera, chief editor and co-anchor for the show Paragogi Stefi films (Παραγωγή Stefi films), which aired in 1990 on eight regional channels, and in 2001, he edited and presented the show San Palio Sinema (Σαν Παλιό Σινεμά) with portraits of Greek actors and actresses. In 1996–1997 he was co-anchor of the show Kali Chronia Sas, Ellines, the concept of which he developed, on ET1, about the Greek disapora, with a number of Greek celebrities as co-hosts. He also directed over 20 theatrical plays and adapted for the theatre the works by Antonis Samarakis Grafeio Ideon (Γραφείο Ιδεών) and Odos Tachydromeiou (Οδός Ταχυδρομείου).
