The site, in the southern Black Hills, is unusual in featuring comparatively long, narrow line figures incised on the rock, compared to more common V-necked anthropomorphs and shield figures. The site is particularly well preserved and is protected.[2] The site was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.[1] References1. ^1 {{NRISref|2009a}} 2. ^{{cite web|title=Arch Creek Petroglyphs|url=http://wyoshpo.state.wy.us/NationalRegister/Site.aspx?ID=132|publisher=Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office|accessdate=19 August 2010}} External links
