Based at Whatcombe Estate in Oxfordshire, Budgett was British flat racing champion trainer in 1969. Budgett purchased the mare Windmill Girl in 1962. Two of her foals were named after neighbouring villages in Norfolk, Blakeney and Morston, as was Blakeney's sire Hethersett. Blakeney went on to win the 1969 Derby and Morston followed up by winning the 1973 Derby. Budgett retired in 1975.[3] References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.thefreelibrary.com/LAST+OF+THE+GENTLEMAN+TRAINERS%3b+Steve+Dennis+talks+to+Arthur+Budgett%2c...-a0146253540 |title=LAST OF THE GENTLEMAN TRAINERS; Steve Dennis talks to Arthur Budgett, the dual Derby-winning trainer who is 90 years old today. - Free Online Library |publisher=Thefreelibrary.com |date= |accessdate=2010-08-17}} 2. ^{{cite news|url=https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/sport-obituaries/8595180/Arthur-Budgett.html|title=Arthur Budgett|date=23 June 2011|work=telegraph.co.uk|accessdate=24 June 2011}} 3. ^{{cite web|last=Armytage |first=Marcus |url=https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/horseracing/5417720/Arthur-Budgett-A-rare-breed-indeed.html |title=ARTHUR BUDGETT: A rare breed indeed |publisher=Telegraph |date=2009-05-31 |accessdate=2010-08-17}} Book citations
