Ascendant is an album by Mark Northfield, released in March 2008 under his own record label, Substantive Recordings. The album is available for purchase in the UK from Rough Trade in London and also on their website. In the US it is available via CD Baby. The album is also available as a digital download via iTunes.

Facts

The album artwork is by Tamara Dubnyckyj who studied at the Royal College of Art, London. The artwork on the front cover is called "Lightly Attached" and the artwork on the back is called "Wire Outstretched".
The album features nine different vocalists (himself included) and the Pearsall Consort. The other vocalists are: Matt Crutchlow, Christopher Killerby, Bryony Lang, Paul Cozens, Ellen Jakubiel, Jon Payne, Jamie McCarthy and Alex Howlett.
