释义 |
Eyot is another spelling of ait meaning small island. The island is roughly triangular, bounded to the northwest by the River Cherwell and to the southeast by the Shirelake Ditch.[1] There is a mixture of habitats, part woodland, part open/scrub. The site is leased by Oxford City Council from Christ Church. At the turn of the 19th/20th centuries it was used as a rubbish tip.[2] References1. ^1 {{cite web| title=Aston's Eyot, Greenbank | url=http://thames.me.uk/s01668.htm | work=Where Thames Smooth Waters Glide | location=UK | accessdate=2 September 2014 }} 2. ^{{cite web| url=http://www.dailyinfo.co.uk/reviews/venue/1779/Astons_Eyot | title=Aston's Eyot | publisher=Daily Information | location=UK | accessdate=2 September 2014 }} External links
