Many people of Awan Sharif claim This place also holds history as it was the first place which was attacked by India in war of 1965 though this claim is unverified. Overflowing gutters,unpaved roads and piles of garbage can be found laying on the streets but none can be found concerned of the conditions of their holy awan Sharif. Money collected through charity doesn't get spent on improving living conditions.[1] The Tomb of Qazi Sultan Mehmood [2] a famous saint of this area is also situated here. few notables of this area are also buried in front tomb. Major Tariq Mehmood [3] is One of the many army person village has produced which is a matter of great pride for all concerned.
