Barbadian National Heroes are the designees of the Order of National Heroes Act, as passed by the Parliament of Barbados in 1998. The act formally recognised the stature of ten major figures in the history of Barbados.[1]The first National Heroes Day was celebrated on 28 April 1998, the centenary of the birth of Sir Grantley Adams.[1] RosterNational Heroes are styled as "The Right Excellent". The ten National Heroes are:[1] - The Right Excellent Bussa (born in Africa and killed during an 1816 slave uprising fighting for his freedom in Barbados)
