Barry M Egan (died 3 March 1954) was an Irish politician. He was first elected to Dáil Éireann as a Cumann na nGaedheal Teachta Dála (TD) for the Cork Borough constituency at the June 1927 general election.[1] He was re-elected at the September 1927 general election but he did not contest the 1932 general election.[2] He stood again at the 1933 general election but lost his seat as Fianna Fáil surged into power. Egan was managing director of the family firm of silversmiths, William Egan & Sons. His Cork shop was burned out by the Black and Tans during the War of Independence.[3] From July to September 1922, when Cork was a closed city, Egan was responsible for producing Cork republican silver, for which he devised his own hallmark.[4] References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://oireachtas.ie/members-hist/default.asp?housetype=0&HouseNum=5&MemberID=358&ConstID=30|title=Mr. Barry Egan|work=Oireachtas Members Database|accessdate=7 January 2009}} {{Authority control}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Egan, Barry}}{{CnaG-politician-stub}}{{TeachtaDála-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.electionsireland.org/candidate.cfm?ID=1495|title=Barry Egan|work=ElectionsIreland.org|accessdate=7 January 2009}} 3. ^Hackett diaries, Cork City and County Archives 4. ^{{Cite episode |title= The Royal William Yard 2 |series= Antiques Roadshow |serieslink= Antiques Roadshow |url= http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06kh32t |accessdate= 19 October 2015 |network= BBC |date= 19 October 2015 |seriesno= 38 |number= |transcript= |transcripturl= }} 6 : Year of birth missing|1954 deaths|Cumann na nGaedheal TDs|Members of the 5th Dáil|Members of the 6th Dáil|Politicians from County Cork |
