Its population was 21,275 in 2009.[1] It is the capital of Moskva District, and is located on the European route E40 (M39) Bishkek to Chimkent highway. HistoryBelovodskoye was established by 12 families of back settlers from Astrakhan Governorate of Russian Empire in spring 1868. The settlement was called Belovodskoye (White river in Russian) by the name of the Ak-Suu River (White river in Kyrgyz) close to which it was laid. The first street in the village was named Astrakhan. Later the settlers from other areas of the empire mostly from Voronezh Governorate and Orel Governorate joined them. They were followed by more peasants from Poltava Governorate, Kharkov Governorate, and Saratov Governorate. The language used by settlers was a mixture of Russian language and Ukrainian language.[2] The Ukrainian politician and former boxing champion of the world Vitali Klitschko was born in Belovodskoye.[3] References1. ^1 {{Cite web |url=http://212.42.101.100:8088/nacstat/sites/default/files/%D0%A7%D1%83%D0%B9%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%B0%D1%8F%20%D0%BE%D0%B1%D0%BB%D0%B0%D1%81%D1%82%D1%8C.pdf |title=Archived copy |access-date=2013-10-02 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110810174007/http://212.42.101.100:8088/nacstat/sites/default/files/%D0%A7%D1%83%D0%B9%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%B0%D1%8F%20%D0%BE%D0%B1%D0%BB%D0%B0%D1%81%D1%82%D1%8C.pdf |archive-date=2011-08-10 |dead-url=yes |df= }} {{Moskva places}}{{Chuy-geo-stub}}2. ^{{Citation | last =Katyutschenko | first =Lyudmila | author-link = | title =Diploma work: History of Belovodskoye Village | publisher=Kyrgyz State University | place = Frunze| volume = | issue = | pages = | date = | origyear = | year =1974 | month = | language =Russian | url =http://belovodskoe-muh.ucoz.ru/publ/moi_ocherki/istorija_sela_belovodskogo_katjushhenko_l_v_chast_1_aja/2-1-0-157 | jstor = | jfm = }} 3. ^{{cite web |url = http://www.klitschko.com/vitali-wladimir |title = Vitali Klitschko |last = |first = |publisher = |date = |website =Official website of Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko |accessdate= 26 February 2014 }} 1 : Populated places in Chuy Region |
