Nzeakor began playing club football in Nigeria, spending time with Sharks F.C., Stationery Stores F.C. and National.[1] In 1988, he moved to Brazil where he played for Esporte Clube Vitória in the Campeonato Brasileiro.[2][3] He became the first African footballer to play in Peru, joining Deportivo Municipal in 1992. He stayed just one season after suffering a knee injury.[1] Nzeakor made several appearances for the Nigeria national football team in the 1980s, including two FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.[4] He retired from playing football in 1996,[1] and went on to become a FIFA-licensed players' agent based in Brazil.[5] References1. ^1 2 {{cite news|work=El Comercio|author=Zaferson M., Víctor|title=El primer africano|url=http://www.elcomercio.com.pe/edicionimpresa/Html/2008-01-25/el-primer-africano.html|language=Spanish|date=2008-01-25|accessdate=2009-09-11}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Nzeakor, Benji}}{{Nigeria-footy-bio-stub}}{{RiversState-sport-bio-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|publisher=Placar|title=Benjy: "Serei O Craque do Vitória|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=mk_4RacaWtIC&printsec=frontcover#v=onepage&q&f=false|date=7 October 1988|page=40}} 3. ^{{cite web|publisher=Globo Esporte|title=Futpedia: Benjy (Benjamin Nzeskor)|url=http://futpedia.globo.com/jogadores/benjy|language=Portuguese|accessdate=2009-09-11}}{{dead link|date=July 2017 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }} 4. ^{{cite web|publisher=RSSSF|author=Courtney, Barrie|title=Nigeria - Details of World Cup Matches|url=http://www.rsssf.com/tablesn/nig-intres-detwcq.html|date=2003-05-03|accessdate=2009-09-11}} 5. ^{{cite web|publisher=FIFA|title=Players' Agents List|url=https://www.fifa.com/aboutfifa/federation/administration/playersagents/letter=n.html|accessdate=2009-09-11|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20090618060744/http://www.fifa.com/aboutfifa/federation/administration/playersagents/letter%3Dn.html|archivedate=2009-06-18|df=}} 12 : 1964 births|Living people|Nigerian footballers|Nigeria international footballers|Esporte Clube Vitória players|America Football Club (RJ) players|Deportivo Municipal footballers|Expatriate footballers in Brazil|Nigerian expatriates in Brazil|Sharks F.C. players|Sportspeople from Port Harcourt|Association football forwards |
