Ormond played for Falkirk, Airdrie and Dumbarton in his native Scotland, before emigrating to New Zealand in 1961.[4] Ormond made his full All Whites debut in a 4–1 win over New Caledonia on 2 June 1962[5] and played his second and final official FIFA A-international two days later, also against New Caledonia, scoring in the 4–2 win.[6][7] Ormond came from a successful footballing family. His brother Willie Ormond represented Scotland at the 1954 FIFA World Cup as a player and the 1974 FIFA World Cup as manager, and his brother Gibby Ormond also played professional football. Ormond's sons Iain Ormond and Duncan Ormond,[8] and granddaughter Vicki Ormond also represented New Zealand.[9] In November 2016, Ormond was awarded the Friends of Football Medal of Excellence in recognition of his playing, coaching and media work in New Zealand football.[10] Ormond died on 15 November 2017, aged 86.[11] References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.neilbrown.newcastlefans.com/falkirk/falkirk.html|title=FALKIRK : 1946/47 - 2013/14|website=Neilbrown.newcastlefans.com|accessdate=4 December 2017}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Ormond, Bert}}{{NewZealand-footy-bio-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.neilbrown.newcastlefans.com/airdrie/airdrie.html|title=AIRDRIEONIANS : 1946/47 - 2012/14|website=Neilbrown.newcastlefans.com|accessdate=4 December 2017}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.neilbrown.newcastlefans.com/dumbarton/dumbarton.html|title=DUMBARTON : 1946/47 - 1953/54 & 1955/56 - 2013/14|website=Neilbrown.newcastlefans.com|accessdate=4 December 2017}} 4. ^{{cite news|url=http://www.gisborneherald.co.nz/article/?id=17958|date=22 June 2010|accessdate=15 December 2011|work=Gisborne Herald|first=Iain|last=Gillies|title=Ormond family left rich legacy in Bay football}} 5. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.ultimatenzsoccer.com/NZRepSoccer/id1562.htm|title=A-International Lineups 1960–1979|author=|publisher=The Ultimate New Zealand Soccer Website|date=|accessdate=12 May 2009}} 6. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.ultimatenzsoccer.com/NZRepSoccer/id1708.htm |title=A-International Appearances – Overall |author= |publisher=The Ultimate New Zealand Soccer Website |date= |accessdate=12 May 2009 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20081007054503/http://www.ultimatenzsoccer.com/NZRepSoccer/id1708.htm |archivedate=7 October 2008 |df= }} 7. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.ultimatenzsoccer.com/NZRepSoccer/id1842.htm |title=A-International Scorers – Overall |author= |publisher=The Ultimate New Zealand Soccer Website |date= |accessdate=12 May 2009 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://www.webcitation.org/5hY1IXOg2?url=http://www.ultimatenzsoccer.com/NZRepSoccer/id1842.htm |archivedate=15 June 2009 |df= }} 8. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.mags.school.nz/images/extracurricular/Sport/soccer1/Newsletter%20March%2006.pdf|title="Peter Lorimer, Leeds and Scotland Hero"|website=Mags.school.nz|accessdate=4 December 2017|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110724201653/http://www.mags.school.nz/images/extracurricular/Sport/soccer1/Newsletter%20March%2006.pdf|archive-date=24 July 2011|dead-url=yes|df=dmy-all}} 9. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.ultimatenzsoccer.com/id630.htm|title=Ormond|website=Ultimatenzsoccer.com|accessdate=4 December 2017}} 10. ^{{cite web|url=http://websites.sportstg.com/club_info.cgi?client=1-4202-81362-0-0&sID=100030&&news_task=DETAIL&articleID=49875384|title=Bert Ormond recognised at NZ Football 125th Jubilee Dinner - Bay Olympic - SportsTG|website=SportsTG|accessdate=4 December 2017}} 11. ^{{cite news | url=http://notices.nzherald.co.nz/obituaries/nzherald-nz/obituary.aspx?n=robert-donaldson-ormond-bert&pid=187259999 | title=Robert Ormond death notice | date=17 November 2017 | work=New Zealand Herald | accessdate=7 December 2017}} 12 : 1931 births|2017 deaths|New Zealand association footballers|New Zealand international footballers|Association football inside forwards|Falkirk F.C. players|Airdrieonians F.C.
