It is 110 km. to the east of Jaisalmer and 36 km to the south of Pokaran. Bhaniyana has a population of 1,500 families out of which 1,000 families are Jat. The main gotra (clan) of this village is Godara & Karwasra . Godara's is famous part of Bhaniyana village in which 1000 Jat families reside and agriculture is the main source of living.
