One Black and One Red. | free_label_2 = | free_2 = | free_label_3 = | free_3 = | website = http://www.hhtc.org.uk }}Haven High Academy (formerly Haven High Technology College and Haven High School) is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status located on Marian Road in the north of Boston, Lincolnshire, England.[1] The school came into being in September 1992 as the result of a merger of the then Kitwood Girls School and Kitwood Boys School. PrefectsYear 10 pupils can apply to become prefects for the following school year. The Senior Prefects team is selected by school vote, with voting participants including both students and staff. Each year, the Senior Prefect team take part in a trip to Washington, DC and New York City. While there is a fun element to the trip, it is primarily an educational journey and includes a day in a typical American school.[2] Immigrant educationNormally, the school would take 135 new pupils each year, an admission cap set by the local education authority. In 2006, the rules were adjusted to allow more pupils due to a large influx of immigrant families to the area. Some local parents expressed concern that precedence for school entry was given to children from immigrant families over local children.
