{{Short description|1=Diplomatic relations between the Federative Republic of Brazil and the Republic of Cuba}}{{Infobox Bilateral relations|Brazilian-Cuban|Brazil|Cuba}}Brazilian-Cuban relations were classified as "excellent" in May 2008 following a meeting of foreign ministers.^[1] After the 1964 coup, the military regime severed diplomatic relations with Cuba, diplomatic relations between the two countries were only resumed after redemocratization in 1986. During a January 2008 state visit to Cuba by Brazilian President Lula da Silva, the Brazilian leader expressed desire for his country to be Cuba's "number one partner".^[1]
