Burton F. Becker was the police chief of Piedmont, California in the early 20th century.[1] He joined the local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan[1] and was elected Sheriff of the Alameda County Sheriff's Office in Alameda County in 1926.[1] In 1930, after years of investigation by Alameda County District Attorney Earl Warren,[1] he was tried and convicted on corruption charges,[2] removed from office and sent to San Quentin Prison.[3]
