The dam is {{convert|96|ft|m}} tall and {{convert|4558|ft|m}} across. The size of the lake varies by season, but when the lake is full, it is over {{convert|11500|acre|km2}} in area, and {{convert|18|mi|km}} long, making it New Mexico's third largest lake.
