History{{update|section|date=December 2013}}Aldo Bensadoun, founder of Aldo Groupe,[1] founded Spring in 1991 under the name Transit,[2][3] with locations primarily in Canada.[4] With the expansion of the chain across the United States, the name of some stores was changed to Transit Spring.[5] By 2008, all the stores were renamed Spring.[4] During 2010 the company made a major announcement which will lead to it expanding in the American market.
