Capital Repertory Theatre (Capital Rep or theREP) is a 287-seat professional regional theatre in Albany, New York. Capital Rep is the only theatre in the Capital District in the League of Resident Theatres (LORT). The theatre operates under regulations dictated{{dubious|date=March 2015}} by Actors' Equity Association. The theatre is located at 111 N. Pearl St in Albany, New York. The theatre's predecessor was Lexington Conservatory Theatre in Lexington, New York, founded in 1976 by Oakley Hall III. After Hall was seriously injured and incapacitated in 1978, the company moved to Albany and became Capital Repertory Theatre. The producing artistic director of Capital Rep is Maggie Mancinelli-Cahill. MissionAccording to the website, the mission of Capital Rep is "to create a meaningful theatre generated from an authentic link to the community." Notable actorsFred Rose, a Broadway veteran, has done several shows with Capital Rep, including performing as Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady in the 2009-10 season. Awards
