The swashbuckler was based on the Rafael Sabatini novel Captain Blood Returns. This was the final film directed by Murphy. PlotCaptain Blood is pardoned by the Crown for his crimes against Spain on the Spanish Main. By 1690 he is living in the West Indies on his plantation where he practices medicine and is to be married to Isabella. His new life is put in danger when he is arrested on a piracy charge after somebody raids the island making him look guilty. To prove otherwise he has to sail again.[1] Cast
