He served as the 28th and 9th Minister of Mines and Energy of Colombia, first in the administration of President Julio César Turbay Ayala and again in the administration of President Juan Manuel Santos Calderón. Rodado, a civil engineer and economist, has also served as Ambassador of Colombia to Spain, President of Ecopetrol, Member of the Chamber of Representatives of Colombia, and as the 58th Governor of Atlántico.[1][2] On 20 September 2011, President Santos announced that Rodado would be stepping down as Minister of Mines and Energy to be replaced by Mauricio Cárdenas Santa María,[3] and designated Rodado as new Ambassador of Colombia to Argentina.[4] Rodado was sworn in by President Santos on 7 February 2012 at a ceremony at the Palace of Nariño,[5] and presented his Letters of Credence to President Cristina Fernández on 11 April 2012 at an official ceremony at the Casa Rosada.[6] References1. ^{{cite journal |url=http://www.caracol.com.co/nota.aspx?id=1324602 |journal=Caracol Radio |language=Spanish |title=¿Quién es el nuevo ministro de Minas, Carlos Rodado Noriega? |trans-title=Who is the new minister of mines, Carlos Rodado Noriega? |accessdate=2010-10-23 |date=2010-07-09 }} 2. ^{{cite journal |url=http://www.dinero.com/negocios-online/minas-y-energia/carlos-rodado-ministro-minas-energia_74053.aspx |title=Carlos Rodado, ministro de Minas y Energía |trans-title=Carlos Rodado, minister of Mines and Energy |language=Spanish |journal=Dinero |date=2010-07-09 |issn=0122-1531 |accessdate=2010-10-23 }} 3. ^{{cite web |title=Presidente Santos designó a Mauricio Cárdenas como Ministro de Minas y Energía |trans-title=President Santos designated Mauricio Cárdenas as Minister of Mines and Energy |date=2011-09-20 |accessdate=2011-09-21 |language=Spanish |location=Bogotá |publisher=Colombia; Press Office of the President of Colombia (SIG) |quote=El Presidente Juan Manuel Santos designó este martes a Mauricio Cárdenas Santamaría como Ministro de Minas y Energía, en reemplazo de Carlos Rodado Noriega, quien será el Embajador de Colombia en Argentina. |url=http://wsp.presidencia.gov.co/Prensa/2011/Septiembre/Paginas/20110920_02.aspx }} 4. ^{{cite web |title=Carlos Rodado Noriega fue designado Embajador en Argentina |trans-title=Carlos Rodado designated Ambassador to Argentina |date=2011-09-20 |accessdate=2011-09-21 |language=Spanish |location=Bogotá |publisher=Colombia; Press Office of the President of Colombia (SIG) |quote=El Ministro de Minas y Energía saliente, Carlos Rodado Noriega, fue designado este martes por el Presidente Juan Manuel Santos como Embajador de Colombia ante la República de Argentina. |url=http://wsp.presidencia.gov.co/Prensa/2011/Septiembre/Paginas/20110920_03.aspx}} 5. ^{{cite web |url=http://wsp.presidencia.gov.co/Prensa/2012/Febrero/Paginas/20120207_07.aspx |title=Presidente Santos posesionó a los nuevos embajadores de Colombia en Argentina y Egipto |trans-title=President Sworn In The New Ambassadors of Colombia to Argentina and Egypt |date=2012-02-07 |accessdate=2012-04-14 |language=Spanish |publisher=Colombia; Press Office of the President of Colombia (SIG) |location=Bogotá |quote=El Presidente Juan Manuel Santos posesionó este martes a Carlos Rodado Noriega y al almirante (r) Édgar Augusto Cely, como embajadores de Colombia ante Argentina y Egipto, respectivamente.}} 6. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.argentina.ar/_es/pais/C11782-la-presidenta-recibio-cartas-credenciales-de-embajadores.php |archive-url=https://archive.is/20120718052444/http://www.argentina.ar/_es/pais/C11782-la-presidenta-recibio-cartas-credenciales-de-embajadores.php |dead-url=yes |archive-date=2012-07-18 |date=2012-04-11 |accessdate=2012-04-14 |language=Spanish |publisher=Argentina, Public Relations Office of the President of Argentina |location=Buenos Aires |title=La Presidenta recibió cartas credenciales de embajadores |trans-title=The President Received Letters of Credence of Ambassadors }} External links
