When they go ask for the ball, he scolds them severely and refuses to give the ball back. When they return to the detective agency, they find a man called Kouda Masao in the front and take him inside. The man asks Mouri to help him find the place where his sister, Sanae, is buried. He claims that Wataki murdered her and buried her in his garden and that's why he is not allowing anyone inside. He tells them that Wataki was her client and when she went to his house on 8th at 8pm he murdered her as he lost money in stocks due to her. When he went to inquire, Watanaki replied that she had never been there. As proof that his sister is buried there, he says that Watanuki can't drive a car, so he couldn't have moved the corpse and also a worker, Mochida, heard the sound of digging when he passed by at 2 am. He says the police wouldn't take the worker's evidence since he was drunk and only did routine questioning. He asks Mouri to help him find the corpse during the only time Watanuki leaves the house—every Saturday at 10, to the hospital for two hours, but Mouri refuses since it illegal. Kouda leaves right away. The detective boys go back to Watanuki's house to investigate and are caught by Watanuki. But this time he treats them better and even gives them the ball back on the promise that they wouldn't play baseball there. But his mood again changes when he listens to the phone message, from Kouda, reminding him to visit the Beika hospital the next day. Mouri does his own investigation, and comes to know that the money Watanuki lost wasn't significant. The kids arrive again the next day, intending to stop Kouda if he wants to dig the property. But he doesn't come and they see a patrol car passing by, which Conan chases. Conan spots Mouri with Inspector Megure, who are there for a jewelry shop robbery. They see that a camera has caught the robber, who turns out to be Kouda. They also find the robbery vehicle abandoned nearby and a gem near the vehicle. Conan finds it odd that Kouda didn't even bother covering his face and also left the vehicle in a close by area, making it easy to spot. He discovers a manhole near the area, and remembers that there is a manhole near Watanuki's place also. }}{{Episode list/sublist | 1 = Case Closed (season 5) | EpisodeNumber = 108 | EpisodeNumber2 = 114 | Title = The Mystery Moletian Case (Part 2) | TranslitTitle = Mogura Seijin Nazo no Jiken (Kōhen) | NativeTitle = モグラ星人謎の事件(後編) | NativeTitleLangCode = ja | RTitle = / "The Mysterious Mole Alien Case (Part 2)" | 1998|7|6}} | ShortSummary = The police find Masao at Yoshikazu's house who buried the stolen jewels around the yard. Conan knocks out Richard, and explains that Mindy Garrett is the killer. First, Mindy rendered Maya unconscious with the use of sleeping pills that was dissolved in her beverage. Maya was then dragged into the bathroom where Mindy began duct taping the inside of the door and window. Mindy murdered her sister by slitting her wrist with a straight razor, leaving her to die of blood loss in the bathtub, and simply walked out the bathroom door and closed it behind her; effectively breaking the seal. By random chance, she encountered Richard, Racheal, and Conan and decided to use them as witnesses to her psychological murder method to testify that they successfully broke through the seal of the locked room with the door taped from the inside, in honesty, Mindy was in complete control of the door; she timed the opening of the door perfectly to make it appear as if they broke the seal of the door; thus using the trio’s natural assumption that they broke through the locked bathroom’s seal, when in all reality, the sealed room wasn't really sealed at all. Mindy’s murderous plan actually had setbacks; one, Kenneth was really the test subject to be used but didn’t make it out due to an illness, and secondly, Mindy really planned to poison her sister by mixing the two household cleaners hoping they give off a noxious gas but failed when she realized they were both bleach-based and ended up being harmles, prompting Mindy to grab a straight razor, slice Maya’s wrist, and leaving her to bleed to death. As evidence, Conan, through Richard’s voice, directs the police to the bloodstain on the door and explains Mindy got blood on her bandanna (the name Yóko is misspelled when Mindy’s bandanna is bearing “Yoko”, indicating that something is covering the accent mark over the first “o.”) Mindy, completely unaware of the blood on her bandanna, looked through the spy hole when Kenneth was ringing the doorbell, explaining how blood from the victim managed to reach outside the crime scene. Conan, through Richard, questions Mindy how she managed to get her sister’s blood on a bandanna that Mindy herself said she got it when she purchased Yóko’s brand new CD two days ago. A defeated Mindy confesses to the murder of her sister, revealing her and Kenneth had a relationship before Kenneth and Maya became serious. Maya copied her sister’s moves from same music taste and accessories, none of which bothered Mindy considering she is her sister. The final straw was Maya professing her sudden love to Kenneth, causing him to leave Mindy, enraging her. Kenneth explains his side of the story and laments that Maya came to her senses and realized what she did was wrong and hoped Kenneth would reconcile with Mindy, though she remains skeptical. Conan, still using Richard’s voice, reveals that Maya cared for her sister, which is shown when she switched out the two household cleaners (that was bought along with beer and duct tape at Mindy’s request) that could potentially kill her if accidentally mixed together, a warning noted by the cashier who rung her up. Finally realizing how her sister feels about her, Mindy runs to Maya‘s corpse begging her to wake up but to no avail. Jimmy Kudo narrates in a voice over how Maya thought that she was looking out for her sister which ultimately got her killed, explaining that sibling rivalry could lead to jealous, ending with how one forgot how to be a sister (Mindy) and the other is gone, forever (Maya). The episode ends on a brighter note with Richard running up on stage at Yóko Okino’s concert and giving her flowers, however this is revealed to be a dream. Using a tranquilizer, Conan knocks Serena out and reveals the culprit to be Kihisae Tanaka. Conan reveals that the crossbow incident was simple, Kihisae pulled a string with an object at the end to break the window, and fired a concealed crossbow to create the idea the attack was coming from the outside. She did the same for the bottom window but had the arrow stuck to the mirror prepared beforehand. As for Hamano's murder, Kihisae strangled him, and using resilient strings, fired them from the balcony to the forest until there was enough to support Hamano's weight. She then tied a string around Hamano's body and used the positioned string to slide the body downwards. She then tied all the strings into another arrow and fired it off. As evidence, Conan reveals that the arrows were specialized to have string connected to them and that they should be found on Tanaka's body somewhere. Tanaka confesses to the murder and reveals that the group members online prompted her grandfather, a famous magician, to attempt a dangerous trick which resulted in his death. Conan meanwhile confronts Katsuki Doi and reveals that his name is the anagram for Kaito Kid. Kid reveals that he saw that someone was on the magician's account and wanted to investigate it and escapes the lounge with the use of his hang glider. }} |
