It was north of where the line branched to Ardee. The station opened on 1 April 1851, closed to goods on 2 December 1974 and was finally closed on 6 September 1976.[1] Proposals were made by businessman Larry Goodman in January 2009 that included reopening the station.[2][3] References1. ^{{cite web| url=http://www.railscot.co.uk/Ireland/Irish_railways.pdf| title=Castlebellingham station| website=Railscot - Irish Railways| accessdate=4 December 2009}} {{coord missing|County Louth}}{{Ireland-railstation-stub}}2. ^{{cite web| url=http://www.tribune.ie/article/2009/jan/18/cash-rich-goodman-to-build-luxury-hotel/| title=Cash-rich Goodman to build luxury hotel| first=Neil| last=Callanan| website=Sunday Tribune| date=18 January 2009| accessdate=4 December 2009}}{{Dead link|date=November 2018 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }} 3. ^{{cite web| url=http://www.argus.ie/news/beef-baron-plans-hotel-1610780.html| title=Beef baron plans hotel| first=Olivia| last=Ryan| website=The Argus| date=21 January 2009| accessdate=4 December 2009}} 4 : Disused railway stations in County Louth|Railway stations opened in 1851|Railway stations closed in 1976|1851 establishments in Ireland |
