The {{convert|1.9|mi|km|abbr=on}}-wide island consists of a single cone that reaches an elevation of 3,747 ft (1,142 m). Chagulak is a stratovolcano and is separated from the nearby Amukta Island by a channel about {{convert|4.3|mi|km}} wide; though the two islands are joined underwater. No eruptions have been recorded and very little is known about the volcano,[2] as the only study done on Chagulak so far is a single chemical analysis of a "low-potassium, high-alumina basaltic andesite" from the north shore.[3] GalleryReferences1. ^{{cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=JKoPAAAAIAAJ&pg=PA534&lpg=PA534&dq=chagulak&source=web&ots=mTMvR5hII-&sig=8MC4fxE8nfzx_tAsVZwA6FgdCqg&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=7&ct=result#PPA183,M1|title=Geographic Dictionary of Alaska|author=Baker, Marcus|year=1906|publisher=Government Printing Office|accessdate=2008-09-01}} {{Islands in the Bering Sea}}{{coord|52|34|20|N|171|08|29|W|scale:500000|display=title}}{{AleutiansWestAK-geo-stub}}2. ^{{cite gvp|vn=311200|title=Chagulak|accessdate=2008-09-01}} 3. ^{{Cite web|url=https://avo.alaska.edu/volcanoes/volcinfo.php?volcname=chagulak|title=Chagulak Island description and information|last=|first=|date=|website=avo.alaska.edu|archive-url=|archive-date=|dead-url=|access-date=2018-06-11}} 6 : Islands of Four Mountains|Uninhabited islands of Alaska|Islands of Alaska|Islands of Unorganized Borough, Alaska|Volcanoes|Stratovolcanoes |
