It's one of the highest grossing Kannada films of the year 1999. The movie considered as one of the best movies in the career of Ramesh Aravind. At the 1999–2000 Karnataka State Film Awards, the film won two awards, Third Best Film and Best Music Director (K. Kalyan). The film was later remade in Telugu language as Naalo Unna Prema, starring Laya and Jagapathi Babu. PlotSusheel (Ramesh Aravind) falls in love with a singer, Sahana (Prema) on seeing her sing in a music programme. He then finds her among the guests at his friend's wedding and writes her a love letter. However, the letter is read by Sahana's sister, Bhavana and replies to it not taking it seriously, but later falls in love with Susheel. Bhavana lies to everyone except her best friend and continues the mail and calls. One among those calls Susheel plans to visits Sahana home in Mangalore but isn't able to meet her. Bhavana welcomes him and takes the gifts he brought for Sahana which contains a locket (Heart shaped with Sahana & Susheel photo) in it. Meanwhile, Susheel aka Ramesh Aravind gets to know through a newspaper that Sahana is about to perform in Town Hall, Bengaluru. And for that concert she wishes to wear the locket which Bhavana carries along with her though unwilling to handover to Sahana, but subsides later and gives her the locket. For the concert Susheel his uncle accompanied by Mom visits, and by the end of it, he tries to speak to Sahana. she treats him as any another fan and friction arises which leads to a slap. In fit of anger she arrives to her residence and confronts her sister bhavana who is listening to the song sung by Susheel. Both sisters get into an argument which is later paused by their parents and similar situation arises in Susheel premises too. The elders think it worthy to have word facing each other. Susheel visits, he feels sorry for slapping Sahana after her concert, Sahana's father asks her to speak with him alone to understand each other, Susheel enquires about Bhavana who is hiding and listening to their talks. Susheel who is angry speaks to Bhavana asking whether she is ok if he marries her sister Sahana,for which she answers Yes. But he says No because it is bhavana who reciprocated his feeling for his letter phone calls and he wishes to marry Bhavana, not Sahana, because he doesn't have any feelings towards him. The movie ends with elders happy with the decision made by their children. Sahana is happy that her sister found her love. Cast
