This time his usual sidekick, Number One Son, has been replaced by Lee's own son, Lee Chan, Jr. The prime suspect in the killings is a shady lady known as the Dragon Queen, but soon Chan's suspicions fall elsewhere. Among those at risk are Lee's maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lupowitz. Even though Charlie Chan's son is, as is usually the case, rarely accurate in reading clues, he has the full love and support of Cordelia, his beautiful fiancée.[2] Cast
ReceptionCritical responseCritic Vincent Canby of The New York Times wrote in his review: "Clive Donner's Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen... is a looselimbed, immensely good-natured entertainment that moves easily between parody and slapstick without ever doing damage to the memories of the character who, in the 1950s and 1960s, gained something of a following as a figure of camp."[3] Review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes gives the film a 5.5/10 with 5 critics' responses.[4] TV Guide gives Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen 0 out of 5 stars.[5] ReleaseCharlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen was released in theatres on February 13, 1981.[3]Home mediaThe film was released on DVD on September 7, 2004, by Trinity Home Entertainment.[6] References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/19833/Charlie-Chan-and-the-Curse-of-the-Dragon-Queen/full-credits.html|title=Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen|work=Turner Classic Movies|publisher=Turner Broadcasting System This last Charile Chan Film (Time Warner)|location=Atlanta|accessdate=January 4, 2017}} 2. ^{{cite web|url=http://allmovie.com/work/charlie-chan-and-the-curse-of-the-dragon-queen-897|title=Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen|work=AllMovie|publisher=All Media Network|location=San Francisco|accessdate=January 4, 2017}} 3. ^1 {{cite web|date=February 13, 1981|authorlink=Vincent Canby|first=Vincent|last=Canby|title=Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen|url=https://www.nytimes.com/movie/review?res=9805E1D61138F930A25751C0A967948260&gwh=DEE17470C4D364B1DCB2E3A2F431B6F9|work=The New York Times|publisher=The New York Times Company|location=New York City|accessdate=January 4, 2017}} 4. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/charlie_chan_and_the_curse_of_the_dragon_queen/|title=Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen|work=Rotten Tomatoes|publisher=Fandango|location=United States|accessdate=January 4, 2017}} 5. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.tvguide.com/movies/charlie-chan-and-the-curse-of-the-dragon-queen/126177/|title=Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen|work=TV Guide|publisher=NTVB Media {{small|(magazine)}} CBS Interactive (CBS Corporation) {{small|(digital assets)}}|location=United States|accessdate=January 4, 2017}} 6. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.amazon.com/Charlie-Chan-Curse-Dragon-Queen/dp/B00031V24.Y|title=Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen|work=Trinity Home Entertainment|publisher=Trinity Home Entertainment LLC|location=Marina del Rey, California|date=September 7, 2004|asin=B00031V24Y|accessdate=January 4, 2017}} External links
