The Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA) was founded in 1934 as the British professional body for trade mark attorneys. It received a Royal Charter in 2016 which saw its name change from ITMA.[1] CITMA is a professional membership organisation with the power to shape law and practice – nationally and internationally, as well as supporting and promoting the trade mark attorney profession. It has legal responsibility for regulating the profession, which is delegated to the Intellectual Property Regulation Board (IPReg). CITMA currently has 1500 members; as well as the core fully qualified Chartered Trade Mark Attorneys, its membership also includes those training to be trade mark attorneys, overseas trade mark attorneys and other professionals in other related areas of the law, e.g. barristers who have a Trade Mark/Design interest. Officers (2016–2018)The President of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys is Tania Clark of Withers & Rogers.[2] She was elected to the position in April 2018. The First Vice-President is Richard Goddard of BP; the Second Vice-President and the Treasurer is Rachel Wilkinson-Duffy of Baker McKenzie.[3][4] See also
