It aired in Sun TV during the years 2004–2006. This was a highly successful show of its time. It revolved around the practice of "Nadi astrology", a very popular belief in Tamil Nadu and widely practiced around Vaitheeswaran Koil area near Chidambaram.The last episode was aired on Sunday, 23 July 2006 at 7.30pm. This serial was also dubbed in Telugu and was telecasted in Gemini TV. PlotThe story revolves around a young journalist Somu, working for Neithal Magazine in Chennai. Starting one fine day, it seems like random people he is meeting, all men, are murdered in different ways and this murder count increases to 12 and all the victims have an ink mark their right-hand thumb, which is a classic trademark if the person gave their fingerprint to see the Nadi Josiyam. As Somu was present in all the crime scenes, he becomes the primary suspect in these murder investigations. The case is handled by the police officer called Aadiyapatham. When Somu starts to investigate these crimes himself, all these murders somehow seem to be connected to Naadi Josiyam. In the midst of this, Somu's friend and Thillairajan's daughter, Aarthi is kidnapped and tortured for some unknown reason by someone. At one point, the kidnappers administer a vial of HIV infected blood to Aarthi and start to conduct some experiments on her. Aakash, a young NRI returns to his ancestral home in Chidambaram where his paternal grandmother lives. He sees some mysterious things happen around him and finds out that his grandmother, Visalakshi, is preserving an ancient Tamil Olai Chuvadis and when he questions about that, she becomes paranoid and tries to keep him as far away as possible from this Chuvadis, the reason being that her father-in-law, Akash's Great Grandfather, was so obsessed with these Chuvadis and was trying to figure out what these Chuvadis were trying to tell the human kind. He was so obsessed with these Chuvadis that he became mentally ill and died. So, Visalakshi is sacred that Akash also might end up like his Great Grandfather and tries to keep him away from those Chuvadis. Abirami is Akash's distant cousin and she lives with her father and her aunt who is dying from Leukemia. There is Kumaraguru, the owner of Neithal newspaper, Somu's boss and like a father figure to him, living with his daughter, Thulasi who is mentally ill and is affected by HIV. It is revealed that Thulasi is a famed researcher in the field of Biotechnology and has obtained two PhDs.She found a cure for HIV in a research lab in Germany but it was not approved citing that she cannot prove that it is effective. So, she injected HIV blood into her body and used her own medicine on herself. The growth of the virus has stopped but it affected her brain and she became mentally ill. She is seemed to do origamy. It is then revealed that there is a possible cure for HIV hidden in the ancient Tamil Palm-leaf manuscript Nadi leaves of 12 men who are murdered and each man has one sign of the 12 Zodiac signs and someone is desperate to get these 12 manuscripts of these 12 people to find the cure for HIV. Did Somu really commit these crimes? If not him, then who killed these people? Did Aarthi survive the kidnap? Did they find the cure for HIV from these ancient Nadi leaves? are the questions that are answered in the course of this series with a lot of twists and turns. SynopsisIt can be noted here that most of the male characters are named after the different names of Lord Shiva who is one of the primary deities of Hinduism and the deity of the Chidambaram Natarajar Temple where there is a belief of Chidambara Rahasiyam after which this show is named.
