In some timetables it was listed as Codnor Park and Selston for Ironville and Jacksdale. It was opened by the Great Northern Railway (Great Britain) on its Derbyshire Extension in 1875-6 and closed in 1963.[2] It lay on the branch from Awsworth Junction, to Pinxton, Codnor Park being important for an ironworks belonging to the Butterley Company. Codnor Park and Ironville railway station opened nearby in 1847 on the Midland Railway Erewash Valley Line. The tracks are still in place today; however, the line is not in use. They can be seen from trains running between Langley Mill and Alfreton References1. ^Butt, R.V.J., (1995) The Directory of Railway Stations, Yeovil: Patrick Stephens {{Disused Rail Start}}{{Rail line|previous={{stnlnk|Eastwood and Langley Mill}}|next={{stnlnk|Pye Hill and Somercotes}}|route=Great Northern Railway2. ^Higginson, M., (1989) The Friargate Line:Derby and the Great Northern Railway, Derby: Golden Pingle Publishing GNR Derbyshire and Staffordshire Extension Pinxton Branch |col={{GNR colour}} }}{{rail end}}{{Closed Stations Nottinghamshire}}{{coord|53.05923|-1.33777|type:railwaystation_region:GB_source:enwiki-npemap.org.uk|display=title}}{{EastMidlands-railstation-stub}} 5 : Former Great Northern Railway stations|Railway stations opened in 1876|Railway stations closed in 1963|Disused railway stations in Nottinghamshire|Ashfield |
