释义 |
Although Colin Clouts Come Home Againe is a pure pastoral poem, the poet, through the use of insets within narrations, is able to mock the limitations of the pastoral mode through poking fun at the use of ordinary words. While he intersperses "grim realities" into the pastoral text, he does so in a georgic (didactic) tone, achieving a rustic effect that is more realistic than the strictly pastoral mode; and then the poem rises to "an exalted vision of cosmic love" in a way that gives the poem a cultivated complexity that was unique to English literature at that time and which became a model for many later poets.[1] Notes1. ^1 2 {{cite book|last=Fowler|first=Alastair|title=A History of English Literature|publisher=Harvard University Press|location=Cambridge, MA|year=1991|edition=2nd|pages=58–60|chapter=|isbn=0-674-39664-2}} {{Edmund Spenser}}2. ^1 {{cite web|url=http://res.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/pdf_extract/XXVIII/112/393|title=The Image of the Centre in Colin Clouts Come Home Againe -- Burchmore XXVIII (112): 393 -- The Review of English Studies|publisher=Oxford University Press|accessdate=2009-12-13|last=Burchmore|first=David W.}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://spenserians.cath.vt.edu/TextRecord.php?textsid=32830|title=Edmund Spenser: Colin Clouts Come Home Againe.|publisher=Virginia Tech|accessdate=2013-11-07|last=Spencer|first=Ed}} 2 : Poetry by Edmund Spenser|1595 poems |
