The river rises at Bolbec and passes Gruchet-le-Valasse, where its name changes to the Commerce. It then passes through Lillebonne and joins the Seine at Notre-Dame-de-Gravenchon. EconomyThe river hosted many watermills that powered machinery to process both cotton and flax. The area became so prosperous it was named the Golden Valley. {{Clear}}See also
