It was established in 1873 and covers an area of 4 hectares. The park's main entrance is from the corner of Summer Street and Clinton Street.[1] HistoryThe area of open space was reserved in 1845 and later, in 1873 the park was officially opened to the public. The park is named in honour of Captain James Cook, the first European explorer to map Australia.
