He won 3 caps for England and retired in 1998 after injuries forced him to retire at the age of 27.[5] Other workHopley is the founder and chief executive of the not-for-profit registered trade union Rugby Players' Association (RPA), launched in August 1998, as the representative body and collective voice of professional rugby union players in England.[3][6] References1. ^National Schools Sevens - Glories and Stories {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20061215044728/http://www.ns7.co.uk/glory.htm |date=15 December 2006 }} 2. ^Old Priorians Association - Sports - International Caps 3. ^1 {{cite news|title=Damian Hopley, the 'Vicar of Rugby' tackles the professional game head on|url=https://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/jobs/5496932/Damien-Hopley-the-Vicar-of-Rugby-tackles-the-professional-game-head-on.html|publisher=Daily Telegraph|date=10 June 2009}} 4. ^{{cite news|title=St Andrews University|url=http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/spl/aberdeen/st-andrews-university-1.751782|publisher=The Herald|date=8 July 1993}} 5. ^{{cite web|url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/english/6098798.stm|title=Hopley continues as players' boss|publisher=BBC|date=30 October 2006|accessdate=18 February 2008}} 6. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.therpa.co.uk/whoweare/index.php |title=Who we are |publisher=RPA |accessdate=25 June 2012 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120807164319/http://www.therpa.co.uk/whoweare/index.php |archivedate=7 August 2012 |df=dmy }} External links
