Casting director Pat Moran took notice of Smith ; auditioned and casted him on the HBO hit show “ The Wire “ as Officer Turner. While on HBO TV series “ The Wire “ Smith teamed up with his friend music mogul Kenny Burns former president of Roc-A-Fella Records aka “ The Lifestyle Specialists “ and wrote, directed and produced a story about him called “ Meeting Mr. Kenny “ which was featured in The Heinkin Film Festival “ and featured in Creative Loathing a Atlanta Magazine. Smith often portrays Cops, Military officers, bad guys and underdogs in dramas.
