In Iran, short dates are written in "year/month/day" from; for example: 1992/10/16 ۱۳۸۹/۵/۱۶ Long dates start with day, followed by month and ended with year (although one should bear in mind that Persian is read from right to left). For example: ۱۶ مرداد ۱۳۸۹
