At the inaugural 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore, Bolarinwa won a bronze medal at the 100 metres, behind Odean Skeen and Masaki Nashimoto. He had entered the race as the favourite, since he ran a world leading 10.39 sec just two weeks earlier, and was the fastest in the qualifying heats.[1][2] Competing for Woolwich Polytechnic School, Bolarinwa won 100 m at the 2010 UK School Games, breaking his own school games record to finish in 10.81 seconds.[3] Bolarinwa's personal best of 10.39 sec is the second-fastest by an under-17 year old ("Youth") in the UK, second only to Mark Lewis-Francis' 10.31 sec in 1999.[4] His twin brother Daniel is a semi-professional footballer, who played for Staines Town F.C., Hitchin Town F.C. and Welling United F.C..[5] References1. ^{{Cite news |url=http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2010/08/18/bolarinwa-skeen-win-heats-set-race-generations-bolt/ |title=Bolarinwa, Skeen win 100 heats, set up race to find next generation's Bolt |work=FOX News |date=18 August 2010 }} 2. ^{{Cite news |url=http://www.morethanthegames.co.uk/athletics/2112202-yog-2010-bolarinwa-settles-100m-bronze-singapore |title=YOG 2010: Bolarinwa settles for 100m bronze in Singapore |work=More Than The Games |date=21 August 2010 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20101024015519/http://www.morethanthegames.co.uk/athletics/2112202-yog-2010-bolarinwa-settles-100m-bronze-singapore |archivedate=24 October 2010 |df= }} 3. ^{{Cite news |url=https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/schoolsports/7990563/David-Bolarinwa-wins-UK-School-Games-100m-title-in-record-time.html |title=David Bolarinwa wins UK School Games 100m title in record time |newspaper=Telegraph |date=8 September 2010 |first=Gareth A. |last=Davies }} 4. ^{{Cite news |url=https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/olympics/london2012/7945949/David-Bolarinwa-proud-to-be-British-standard-bearer-at-Singapore-Youth-Olympic-Games.html |title=David Bolarinwa proud to be British standard bearer at Singapore Youth Olympic Games |newspaper=Telegraph |date=14 August 2010 | location=London | first=Jacquelin | last=Magnay}} 5. ^{{Cite news|url=https://www.docstoc.com/docs/128183577/Staines-Town-Players-2011-12 |archive-url=https://archive.is/20131218115244/http://www.docstoc.com/docs/128183577/Staines-Town-Players-2011-12 |dead-url=yes |archive-date=18 December 2013 |title=Staines Town Players 2011/20123 |newspaper=Staines Town F.C. |date=14 August 2010 |location=London }} External links
